The Hanna Society is a part of the national organization referred to as the LWML- Lutheran Women in Mission. One of the purposes of the LWML is to spread the Gospel in the U.S. and throughout the world. Much of this is done though mite offerings which are collected in mite boxes by many faithful people. Anyone who wishes to have a mite box may get one from a Hannah Society member. Periodically throughout the year the mite offerings are collected at church . Since it's beginning in 1942 the LWML has been a supporter of mission services and mission education.
